We have an interesting project just now - making roof ties to repair some of Launceston's Heritage buildings.
First we mixed various clays to achieve a similar colour and body to the original tiles. After puging the clay was rolled on the slab roller then hand cut to prepared templates and laid on forms to dry. Dear friends of Artisan Gallery, I don’t expect it will be a surprise to you that Rudolf and I are getting older and reaching retirement age – and luckily for us Tony Abbott cannot do anything about it! We are just about to close for our usual winter break (June, July and August) and fly north for the winter and when we return Rudi will officially be a Grumpy Old Man so we have decided that we will no longer run Artisan Gallery as a multi craft gallery. Instead when we return, we will re-open as Artisan Pottery. Initially the gallery will open weekends only and we shall be selling mainly our own pottery. SO NOW IS THE TIME to purchase that special piece that you have had your eye on. Artisan Gallery ( as you know it) is open usual hours – 7 days a week from 10 am to 5 pm UNTILL SATURDAY 31st MAY. Many stock items have been reduced by 25% so this is your opportunity to pick up a bargain and our opportunity to farewell our loyal customers. Best regards Lisa & Rudolf Artisan Gallery Tasmania The Way We Were
